Love Enough to Walk Away

Hatred is an extremely strong force. In the world we live in today, it may seem at times to be all there is left. So many people are following in the fiery trail set ablaze by those before them wanting nothing more than the destruction of anything and anyone different. Ask yourself, though, where did it begin?

We are all on a journey to self-discovery. While some feel they are more "on track" than others, we are all exactly where we should be. We all fight battles seen and understood by no one else, and to be accepting of someone else's place in their own journey is nothing short of incredible. It is what we owe each other as co-habitants of this dying planet.

So, I say that to say this: HATRED STARTS FROM WITHIN. If you do not have the capacity to love and accept yourself, you will never be capable of loving and accepting another human being. Hatred is learned behavior. It comes from a lack of reasoning trickling down to a pool of closed-mindedness. We must combat hatred at every turn; the only way to do that is with love and understanding. We must not judge those who have not been fortunate enough to see they've had "right" and "wrong" backward their whole lives. We must be willing to do the hard things at times to save our own sanity and peace. We must be willing to walk away. Rome was not built in a day; neither is respect.

So, beautiful people, spread love and spread it wildly; and when you meet adversity, greet it as a friend and beg it to listen. If it chooses to fight, lay your sword at your feet and take flight. Let your love give you wings.

Nobody "gets it" before it's their time to "get it". DEEP!

Working a full time job, raising two daughters, attempting to have a social life, trying to make my family proud, and trying to make myself proud are things I do every day. I'm now beginning my journey of giving. This is step one.
